Let Me be your hiding place. When it’s all too much and you just want to run, run to Me. When you want it all to be over already, but it isn’t, come to Me. When nothing is as you expected this season, seek Me.
While others are singing “Have a holly, jolly Christmas,” please know it’s okay to not be okay.
When all is dark instead of bright as the carols sing, hear this:
I am familiar with the dark.
I was born under the blanket of a dark sky. When Herod heard of My existence and sought to kill Me as a baby, the Father moved us to safety under the cover of night. I met Nicodemus in the dark with all his questions, protected from the prying Sandhedrin eyes of the day. I calmed nighttime storms. Walked on dark waters. Even sweated drops of blood the night betrayal came in the Garden of Gethsemane. When I died, the sun refused to shine, leaving the whole land in darkness. And when I resurrected, I rose before the sun.
For every hidden place in you being exposed this Christmas, buried down deep in the dark where it’s cold and cannot be seen by everyone else, I see. What is buried in you I will nourish until it brings forth life. Down below in that hiding place, what isn’t seen is hidden in Christ as it grows. You are safe with Me. I will hold you in the dark and deliver you to safety.
This time of year has a way of pushing up what you’ve pushed down. When your heart is broken apart from unthinkable suffering, bring your broken, dismembered pieces to Me, the One Whole God. Don’t sweep them under the rug. And definitely, definitely don’t throw them away.
Grace is the help.
I know it’s overwhelming to see them scattered about, but you won’t find peace if you keep pushing away the pieces. Go deeper with Me. Accept the grace you need. My charis1 grace. It is the help. It is My favor, My immeasurable love and kindness to come alongside you. To give you all of My strength in those dark, hard, weak places.

Invite Me into the mystery. Lay it all down on Me. I do not tire of your needs. And you are not too much. I delight in coming to make your heart whole again.
Let Me be your hiding place this season.
Love,
Jesus
